Worried About Healthy Skin?

Well worry no more! I know most women and a lot of men are worried about keeping their skin healthy. There are so many things that you can do to keep your skin healthy. One of the biggest ways to change how your skin looks is to make sure that you are eating healthy foods. If you eat things that are too high in sugar or fat, they can impact how your skin looks and feels.

While all healthy foods will help you keep your skin healthy, here are some that will be more helpful than others:

- Low-Fat Dairy Products: Vitamin A is one of the most important ingredients for healthy skin and one of the best places to find Vitamin A is in dairy products. One of the best low-fat dairy products that you could consume is actually yogurt because it not only has Vitamin A in it but it also has important active cultures that help your digestion.

- Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, and Plums: All four of these fruits have very high levels of antioxidants. Those antioxidants help keep cells from breaking down. When your skin cells start to break down it gives you the appearance of being older than you really might be.

- Salmon, Walnuts, Canola Oil, and Flax Seed: While these foods might seem totally unrelated, they all can deliver essential fatty acids into your diet. Fatty acids help keep cell membranes healthy and strong. The stronger those membranes are, the more water your cells will hold and the more water you cells hold, the more plump and full your skin will look.

- Whole Wheat Bread, Muffins, Cereals, Turkey, Tuna, and Brazil Nuts: All of these foods contain high levels of selenium. There have been studies done that state that the higher the selenium levels are in your body, the lower reaction your skin will have to over exposure to the sun. Also, filling up on whole grain foods help you fill up on the foods that are healthier for you and your skin so there is less space in your stomach for the foods that are bad for you and your skin.

- Water: Your skin will look better and you will feel healthier if you are fully hydrated. In order to obtain that level of hydration you have to drink water, not sodas or other sugar filled drinks. Drinking enough water will also help you sweat more efficiently which will help your skin as well.
